Bon Jovi on the big screen
The New Jersey natives may find themselves on a movie screen near you!
Documentary director Barbara Kopple was hired by the band to join them on the road and create a film to commemorate Bon Jovi's first 25 years together.
Kopple was hired after an unsuccessful attempt to create a book with David Ritz, a well-known biographer. Jon Bon Jovi admitted that the group did not have many pictures or film footage because he "kept the doors shut". Jovi realized that the fans deserved to learn a bit about the artist and band and the perfect way to go about it would be to bring them on a tour.
Bon Jovi wanted their story told and it should be an exciting adventure to ride along with the band and see what got them where they are today.
The angle of the documentary is still to be determined. Whether they will go with Bon Jovi's latest album Lost Highway, which sold more than 3.5 million copies, or if they will cover their entire career, beginning in 1982, selling more than 120 million albums worldwide.
There is also no word yet on the release date for the documentary. Check back here often to find out that bit of information! (Last updated 2/18/08)
